Furniture Donation Network gets ready for spring clean season!

Thursday, April 26th, 2012

As spring clean season gets into full swing, Furniture Donation is reminding local residents that its collection team are ready and waiting to come and pick up any unwanted furniture that’s still in an excellent or very good condition.

The scheme, run by award-winning recycler and social welfare charity, Recycling Lives, offers householders the opportunity to arrange a completely FREE collection for any unwanted furniture that’s still in a new or nearly new condition.

To book a collection at a time and date to suit you, simply enter your post-code in the site, select a suitable time slot and let us know what you’d like collecting. We’ll take a fully refundable service deposit – which we use to protect our charity collection partners – and you’ll get that back in full once the items are collected and confirmed to be in the condition described. Refunds are issued within 24 hours of collection, so there’s no long wait to get your deposit back.

All items collected by Furniture Donation Network are reused, often being donated or sold at a discounted price to individuals who would otherwise be unable to furnish their homes. Any money made on the furniture goes to help support the Recycling Lives charity, which offers accommodation, training, work experience and employment opportunities to homeless and unemployed individuals. One donation of furniture really can go a long way.

Furniture Donation Network manager, Katie Roxburgh, commented:
“Spring clean season has come round again and we’re hoping for some good donations from local residents as they clean out their homes and make room for new furniture that they’ve picked up over Christmas or in the January sales.

“Every donation we receive has real benefits for disadvantaged people in society. Whether the items are donated directly, or sold at a profit to help fund our charity schemes, they make a huge difference.”

Furniture Donation Network prides itself on its top quality customer service and environmental credentials. That’s why:
- Furniture collections are carried out by fully trained local charity partners, helping to minimise unnecessary travel and energy expenditure.

- Collection teams adhere to the stringent Furniture Donation Network Code of Conduct, which helps to ensure the safety, comfort and security of our generous customers

- Furniture collected is always assessed for reuse before recycling: we’re committed to saving energy wherever possible. Items that are recycled are taken to Recycling Lives, which achieves an impressive >99% recycling rate.

Furniture Donation Network can save you the bother of taking your unwanted furniture down to the charity shop, so why not book a collection today and kick start your spring clean?

And, for furniture that’s not in a new or nearly new condition, don’t despair: there’s always Bulky Waste, which guarantees collection no matter what condition your items are in!
